If someone spells their name for me and I have to write it down I swear to god im hearing new letters in the alphabet. Like all I hear is gibberish. Same with numbers LOL!
ALSO im looking for a groutfit. I hate supporting skims but like the sweats look so cozy and perfect
Omg, YES! I am SO with you!!! I hate when I forget someone’s name 5 seconds after the intro. Cringe. I’ve been getting more comfortable saying, “I’m sorry, remind me of your name again?” And then audibly repeating it 3 times!
Ugh I know. If anything, the tee is so perfect and I wish so badly it came in white.
If I see something written down, I’ll probably remember it. If I write it down myself I will never have to look at the reminder again. If you tell me verbally, it’s gone before you’re finished talking. Definitely a visual learner.
High five from another 'sauerkraut girlie', Traci :) It must be my Polish background - and boy! I miss this stuff in my daily cuisine here in Denmark. Yes, I can buy it in Polish specialty stores in Copenhagen, but it's not the same as having it served for lunch at my work cantine on a random Tuesday. And I love how you talk about kindness for our past selves. Iwas once asked at a job interview whether there was anything I regretted. I resolutely answered - No, as a matter of fact, everything I did in the past was done to my best ability and understanding of myself and the situation in question. Would I have done something differently today? For sure! But still back then it was what was possible for me.
Could it be from my deep German heritage!?! I can only imagine how incredible it must taste in its authentic form! The way you handled that question is a learning lesson for all of us. Saving that one to come back to. You're amazing!
I love the Ruti pants. They were gifted to me, but I’ve been very surprised about how frequently I wear them for work/elevated travel. The material feels like a light and swishy performance fabric but looks really nice. They seem to have a couple 20% off sales per year though - so def wait for that!
YES!!! They were literally just 20% off a few days ago. I almost wrote it in the post and was like I bet by the time I hit published the sale will be over. Sigh.
I also made ridiculously good granola a couple of nights ago. Truly an amazing life hack. Store-bought granola just isn’t that good…unless it’s Purely Elizabeth which costs $10000!!
And this is why I love you & you’re the ultimate professional! At one point I said- I have adhd and I’m off my meds right now. Help a sis out, please. 🤣
Since becoming a mum to two incredible (and incredibly different kids) I’ve been so fascinated in different peoples learning style. My daughter is almost exclusively auditory to the point that when I ask her anything, I finish it with the question: does that sound good? And then she repeats it back to me - and then everyone’s happy. Except my son - who is all about processes and needs to know every step in the exact order and time it’s going to happen.
I keep coming to your page to write this response to your newsletter and then bc you’re the biggest substack cheerleader I keep getting sidetracked reading amazing posts you restack and then life calls and then the cycle starts all over again. I don’t need post its, I need blinders, so I stop getting distracted by shiny things. But that’s also why your posts are so great; rather than writing one long manifesto like I do, you keep things tight and interesting with great pics and graphics. You know I love your outfits so much and you give me true leather jacket envy that really tests the depths of my impulse buying tendencies. Have we discussed kimchi yet? Bc I love it so so much.
Still working on being kinder to my younger self. As much fun as I had in my party girl days, knitting and staying home and taking naps is how I think I’m honoring my younger self, oddly enough. Thanks for the reminder ♥️
You’re toooo kind!!! No need to ever worry!!! I cannot wait to deep dive all things kimchi at our next meetup, lol! Love that knitting is bringing you so much joy. Do you know what’s bringing me joy rn? The cobalt blue socks you gave me that I’m rocking as I type this!!
Team post-it, 100% except mine is random pieces of mail. I write little notes about everything on them and my husband finds these illegible notes everywhere :/
Skims cotton sweats and that boyfriend T is what I put on the minute I walk thru my doors.
Thanks for linking that video of the Pats coach. I hadn't seen that yet and it, of course, hit me. That the essence of my whole life's work, ha!
I had just been thinking about making granola from scratch this week!!
Traci! I love your outfits - the purple sweater and pink jacket especially! Also, I have been listening to Bad Bunny and Yukon on repeat! I love that! Treat your past self quote is so good!
Aww Traci, auditory learning is SO hard for me too. And my husband and two kids are clearly auditory learners. I love irritating my husband by repeating my made up versions of the names of the ready made food we buy and also his pro-wrestling favorites....so I guess there's a plus point to not being an auditory learner! Oh yesssss to kimchi. It's so delicious, I eat it on its own. Just have to double brush after because the garlic knocks me out sometimes hahaha.

WE ARE ONE IN THE SAME! xx The verbal instructions make me crumble to pieces, lol.

Definitely your German roots, Traci!! :)
Just tell me exactly what I need to know, I don’t need 15 minutes of fluff!! I so relate.
Are the ruti pants worth it? Been eyeing them!

Blahhhhh I regret to inform you I like them a lot. TBH, they’re really out of my price range & I was super grateful to receive them as a gift.
They’re comfy (wish I didn’t size down, though), light weight, and perfect for my weekend lifestyle. I like the barrel & all.
& yes, CUT THE FLUFF!
I also made ridiculously good granola a couple of nights ago. Truly an amazing life hack. Store-bought granola just isn’t that good…unless it’s Purely Elizabeth which costs $10000!!
Send me the recipe!!! & Yes Purely Elizabeth >>> everything. But hey! If I can make my own, why the hell not!?
Too much in here! I have just started being honest with people, like “sorry, I missed that, could you please break it down again thankssssss”
And this is why I love you & you’re the ultimate professional! At one point I said- I have adhd and I’m off my meds right now. Help a sis out, please. 🤣
Ok I am going to try the hoody and leather bomber thing because it looks so good. I suspect I'm not cool enough but I WANNA TRY.
Ps - we have the same comms issue in our house. My husband will brain dump plans on me and I'm like "babe, text it to me." In front of me. Ha.
Do it!!!! No audible brain dumps for the love of god 🤣🫶🏻
Gosh how I love your posts! I’m NOT an auditory learner either!
😭 TYSM from the bottom of my heart for being here!

I love that you’re also a fan of that tee - it’s so freaking perfect! I am laughing about writing the random illegible notes 🤣
Oh I need you to dissect that video from your amazing pov! So glad you enjoyed. Xx
Traci! I love your outfits - the purple sweater and pink jacket especially! Also, I have been listening to Bad Bunny and Yukon on repeat! I love that! Treat your past self quote is so good!
Bad Bunny 4 Life. Said what I said!!! You are the bestest, Tam! Xx

Omg yes to the garlic, lol! Cracking up - you are the best - always making me feel not alone!!
The number of dog names I know over human names at this point is laughable. I'm so glad I am not alone in this camp at all.
We get each other!!!! 🤣🤣❤️❤️
