Thank you so much for the kind words! I actually have a great photo of what I usually wear in the summer—an oversized tank, basketball shorts, and brown sandals—very Adam Sandler–inspired vibes. It’s a perfect contrast to outfits like these, haha! Luckily, I’ve only ever been met with kindness during my potential "overdressing' moments"...the negativity is always just in my head. ;)
I feel SEEN. tbh, if I saw you in these outfits at pick up, I'd immediately kick myself for not wearing the "good shirt" and would want to be your friend!!!
Too kind!! The more I do it, the more “normal” it feels—and the less I feel the need to play a pump-up song (you know, like a good Millennial hit by The Offspring 🤣 aging myself here) in the car before walking in.
I love these outfits! Perfect for camp pick up. I used to “save” my good clothes for fear of them getting ruined, but then I ended up getting rid of a lot of those items in my first big closet reckoning. After all that time in storage, so many of these precious pieces no longer fit right or no longer felt like me. So now I just try to get as much use out of my good things as I can!

Yes! All of these outfits are great and more importantly, you seem happy to be wearing them. I know it’s easier said than done, but letting go of caring what others think is one of the best gifts you can give yourself, and your style. I am also “off during the summer” and while I wouldn’t trade my time off for anything, I do find myself looking for places to wear things. As such I try to make my summer casual stuff both fun and comfy. Great post!!

The green shorts and the red sneakers and the dress WITH sneakers and socks and also yes it’s white but that gorgeous white pintuck top are making my eyes so very very happy and well fed. I’m so glad I helped encourage the color wearing! It agrees with you! These are not even baby steps, these are bold moves gurl. Wasn’t it happy and joyful to wear?

To answer your question: I’m the queen of wearing extra outfits. I live in a small town where people are always in non-outfits and I decided a long time ago I was going to keep having my Elle Woods moment.
