One Piece, Endless Possibilities: The Suede Shirt Jacket (Vol. 2)
The Suede Shirt Jacket: Because One Jacket Shouldn't Have This Much Power
I’m excited to switch things up this weekend with a One Piece, Endless Possibilities post. I’ve had my eye on this suede shirt jacket for a few weeks now. It keeps popping up in my Instagram algorithm (and not black bears, baby seals, and Arctic foxes, which is weird…). I finally clicked on it and saw that it’s from Sezane—a fancy French brand with an accent on the “e,” but for some unknown reason, I refuse to type it correctly. I think it’s a form of silent protest.
I happily clicked the link… and then I saw the price: $305. As the late great Randy Jackson once said, “Yeah, that’s gonna be a no for me, dog.”
So, I went into full fashion-sleuthing mode, determined to find a “dupe” or a similar style for less. I only dig this hard when a friend has an ex-boyfriend, and we need a full social media vetting to ensure he never experiences happiness remotely close to what he had with her.
I swear, if my sister asks me to do one more post on dupes, I’m going to throw this laptop. But listen, she has a point. We don’t want to spend crazy amounts of money unless something is truly timeless. I love this suede shirt jacket, but I’m not sure how well it will stand the test of time.
“Dupes” are great and all, but let’s make sure you’re not the one getting duped. You don’t want to end up with something poorly made, uncomfortable, or just plain unwearable—because, well, returns suck. Shoutout to my husband, who literally runs around between UPS, USPS, and Whole Foods (Amazon returns?) on a weekly basis.
So, without further ado, here is my purchased (and owned—for the record, I did not return this) suede shirt jacket! I’m sort of obsessed with it. I also linked some other ones at various price points! SO MANY Links in this post are on sale!

So once I received my suede shirt jacket I was super excited. It literally smells like suede. I felt the need to take out that weird protective spray for my Ugg boots and spray it all over this shirt. I had a lot of fun styling this in different ways. And honestly, there are still SO MANY OTHER WAYS you can style it. I hope some of these looks provide you with some inspiration!

This is the look I ended up wearing to work on Wednesday, and I loved it! I got so many compliments—especially on the red ballet flats paired with the brown shirt. My favorite part of nailing an outfit is how amazing it makes me feel. By Wednesday, I’m usually exhausted, but when I feel good, comfortable, and satisfied with my look, it gives me a magical boost to conquer the day. This was super fun. I didn’t expect it, but the fully buttoned look with the dark denim and red flats was oddly my favorite. A close second is the white tee with the suede shirt jacket, denim, and—again—the red flats! I think the red flats really make this look stand out and feel more interesting. Towards the end I started incorporating old cotton scarves I had from Madewell (way back in the day).
I try not to smile in my pictures, but I paid a lot of money for Invisalign—so sometimes, I have to smile and show those pearly whites just to prove it was worth it.

I have been telling everyone I meet about Quince! I also love a good scarf to add a little something something to an outfit. I am inspired!
Love how you show all ways to style it. I would never buy this but after seeing how cute it is on you and that I can easily grab a white tee shirt and pants to put on, I think I’m going to buy one now! Thanks for pushing me out of my boring mom fashion comfort zone
