This was my first read back on here after a break and it did not disappoint. Had me giggling immediately with the first paragraph. I feel like I had so many thoughts throughout, but the most important ones were:
- I LOVE your take on just "doing your part" with the small talk. I've had this on my mind more lately with even just saying hello to people outside on walks. You never know who the extra mile in these situations will be huge for.
- I have such a hard time committing to a walkout song, but when I was playing softball last week someone was playing Are You Gonna Be My Girl by Jet when it was my go and I gotta say that one hit.
Christina, I have missed you SO much beyond words. I even went back to your page to make sure I wasn’t seeing things and you were truly on vacation as you mentioned. That is an ICONIC walk out song!!!!!!!!
This makes me so happy to know my absence was noticed! I remember feeling the same when you took your mini hiatus and was hoping everything was ok. So nice to know when people are missing you on here! ❤️
That’s awesome your daughter is playing softball! Definitely some iconic walk-up songs she picked!Reminds me of when my son played baseball last summer and his coach asked him what walk-up song he wanted and he said “The Real Slim Shady”. 🙈 His coach was like, “Ok, well, we’re going to have to find the clean version of that”. Lol
I have a soft spot for any cute coffee cup and those from Etsy are sooooo freaking cute. I have the same sneakers and they’re by far my most comfy pair. They’ve officially graduated to my volunteering shoe lol.
Also, on small talk, I struggle with this so much. I feel like most of the time people caught me daydreaming or with my head somewhere else, but walking my dog and saying hi to other dog owners has been a good practice. I’m still working on how to get out of uncomfortable conversations 🤦♀️.
A cute coffee cup hates to see me/us coming! It changes the entire mood of the day imo! The sneaks are really so great! I switched to them after wearing Hokas for a while & forgot how solid ASICS are!
And yes to small-talk struggles. I want to get to a place where I don’t think back on the experience a few hours later & cringe so hard.
Would try to hunt cute coffee cups at my next trip to the thrift!
Also, same. I used to be so hard on myself with those type of convos, now I’m trying to laugh about it and move on. I think it will come with practice 😂
