First improv, now acting - you are my absolute creative IDOL! It has been the BEST creative outlet, but you're right, it adds a totally different dynamic consumption-wise. I've found myself having a hard time opening the app recently. (Tricia wrote about this, too!)

Thank you for the recap of that article, I needed a little reminder of the importance of creativity. I sometimes gaslight myself into thinking my SS is self indulgent and silly, and I should give it up. But it’s my main outlet for creativity and that’s important! I needed this reframe ❤️
SS (and getting dressed) is also my primary outlet for creativity and I always feel sort of embarrassed about it! But whatever!!! Think about how many drawings there are of fruit bowls in the world! What's one more newsletter?! Be free!!
SAMESIES. I often think, what will my kids think when they read this one day? But you know what? I hope they think, “WOW, my mom was low-key cool, putting her trauma and challenges all over the internet while trying to look semi-stylish!”

Emily, in my eyes your posts are the pinnacle of creativity and eye candy!! I admire them so much because I can only begin to imagine the amount of work and hyperfixation it takes to make something look THAT good. Please do not EVER, EVER give it up (this is me being selfish, lol). You constantly inspire me!! 🫶🏻🫶🏻🫶🏻
As someone who chose Whimsy as one of my words this year I so relate to your thoughts about creativity. Maybe that’s why I sought out to do so many tactical hobbies lol.

Now I know there's a name for my many side quests - whimsy! Yay for putting a name to it. I enjoyed Wayward too and really liked taking notes on Toni Collette's fashion. She made hippie look so chic!
I don't care what anyone says, a candle is one of the best little treasures anyone can gift you, and after a delicious meal on a "good" plate, lighting it feels oh-so-magical.
A spa bath is my favorite ritual! The best treat, and I always sleep like a baby after. OBSESSED with the fringe skirt look and the leather jacket + scarf. So good!
