I Overthink Every Outfit, So You Don’t Have To | 01
Proof I can look put together—before retiring to my true form: Effortlessly unkempt.
It’s been officially one week since I rolled this publication out. It’s been such a wild rush of excitement and emotions. I was just talking with a friend at work and shared that the amount of women coming out to support women has been just so overwhelming. The incredible support I’ve received from so many different friends from all different walks of life has meant so much to me. Thank you for being here. Truly, from the bottom of my heart—it means the world to me. I promise I will try not to let you down. Only if you text me… in that case, you need to give me a good 5-7 business days to reply; and I almost always will let you down.
Let’s talk about what I wore this week. It was so much fun putting together outfits I usually wear, but with the thought in the back of my mind that I was going to photograph and share them. I hope some of these resonate with you. I chose these outfits because, honestly, they make me happy and make me feel good. That’s the point of fashion, right? Consider me your personal enabler.
Monday:
I had quite the case of the Mondays this week. All the magnesium in the world couldn’t help me relax. Maybe it’s the triple shot of espresso I have every day, but honestly, I’d rather live a sleepless life than give it up. Shoutout to Starbucks Espresso Roast—you the real MVP. Luckily, I managed to get myself up and at least semi-put together.
I decided to play with the chocolate brown color of this winter season. I paired it with a simple black pair of high-rise work pants and ballet slippers. The gold shell earrings are literally a staple in my wardrobe and always add a fun, shiny pop to my outfit.
I don’t have a fancy mirror that shows my full outfit, but I’ll work on investing in one. My only concern is that you’ll then see the disaster zone at my feet.
Maybe that can be my next series—Things Traci Obnoxiously Keeps on the Floor Instead of Putting Away. My husband will not hesitate to submit photographic evidence and passive-aggressive comments.
It’s a bird, it’s a plane, It’s me…. posting a picture with me in it. Cue the mini anxiety attack. The lighting isn’t doing my foundation any favors. Don’t call the makeup police I swear it matches my skin in real life. And if it doesn’t…blame the followers of this publication for not telling me every day. Mom that includes you.

Tuesday:
Tuesday was all about polished comfort. It definitely wasn’t a jeans day at work, but I subtly made it work. The sweater draped around my shoulders and the pearl earrings were definitely the fan favorites. I paired the look with my brown oversized wool coat. The only issue was that I didn’t have enough time to lint roll it. With two German Shepherds, this poses many challenges for my wardrobe. Absolute freeloading fur monsters—at this rate, I should be reviewing vacuums instead.

Wednesday:
I needed to prove to myself that I wear colors other than neutrals. I love incorporating a pop of red into my wardrobe every now and then. It wasn’t a jeans day yet again, but I tried to make it fashionable in hopes that no one would notice. I aimed to follow my own rules from my last posts—I let the satin sleeves of the shirt peek out from under the red sweater.
I love the shoes I wore with this outfit. They’re truly classic and timeless. I’ve had them for a few years, and you’ll see I wear them throughout all the seasons.
I also realized how much I re-wear the pieces I invest in. I wore the pearl earrings yet again, just like I re-wore the black ballet slippers on Monday and Tuesday. I’ve learned that when I invest in something I love and that makes me feel good, I keep reaching for it in different combinations.
After taking this selfie, I also realized I really need a manicure. Maybe there’s a way to Photoshop nail polish onto my nails… or I could just go sit in the salon, which absolutely destroys my soul. But that’s a ramble for an entirely separate post.

Thursday: I wanted to prove to the world that scarves are IN, and even I will wear and style them in public! I love this Amazon scarf – it’s a great Hermes dupe. Not only are we wearing them around our necks this season, but we’re also rocking them like a chic cape. Essentially, we’re Parisian girls now (except I didn’t have a croissant today, nor do I have any idea how to play chess). I believe that white denim is an all-year thing, and that whole Labor Day/Memorial Day argument can go elsewhere. The “Barn Jacket” (coat) was a last-minute decision. I love this coat from Mango – it’s heavy-ish and will definitely be used throughout this more mild part of the winter and into the spring.

Friday: Maybe if I wear spring colors, I can manifest spring weather. I decided to try out the butter yellow color (or margarine yellow?) with some denim, paired with chocolate brown ballet slippers. I layered a basic white tank underneath for a simple, classic touch.
I love the earrings I chose for this outfit—they’re an Etsy find, and I’ll link the creator below. They’re super minimalistic and fun to stack if you have multiple piercings.
Could it be? Could I finally be tired of rambling on about my clothing? I think so. I’m as shocked as my laundry pile is. In that case, I hope you enjoyed this—it was truly a labor of love.
