I love how you weave beautiful life advice into your thoughts on style, because fashion is philosophical! And helps us find joy in those small moments. Especially with color. I’ve always loved red + burgundy - and add navy? Swoon. It’s got my vote!
Thank you, Lindsay! It also holds me accountable that I better TAKE my own advice, lol! I love a good moment for democracy -- great choice! THANK YOU for taking the time to read, means so much (as always!!)
Thank you, Ginny! The burgundy and red was such an unexpected FUN pairing! I felt very revealed in the sheer shirt, but said what the heck, YOLO! #FINDSBYGINNY!
Always appreciate you taking the time to read and support! Thank you for being you!
This is such a beautiful piece. I've definitely been more intentional with creating my own happiness over the past year. Whether it means pausing an extra second to truly the scent of my coffee, morning walks, or reading your posts...
Anyway such a great reminder to cherish the journey and the little things that we so often take for granted.
Beautiful looks. So elevated. I'm here for your lime green!
Ana!! You are MY GOAT! I’m so glad you took the time to read AND have been protecting your peace! I love that— something as simple as the smell of a fresh brewed cup of coffee <3
“Don’t let the joy package arrive at your door only to get tossed off the porch.” I love this reminder so much, Traci!! I’m also guilty of sitting in the bad feelings for too long and then brushing off the feelings of joy so quickly. I want to get better at it, too. Love these colour combos, especially the green with the brown blazer, which is something I would’ve never thought to pair together!
SAME- we got this! Let’s accept that package upon arrival! Thank you so much for the kind words - I was also very out of my comfort zone with the brown and green! I’m so glad you liked it! I love a good Maria Hyde stamp of approval! Makes my day!
Thank you so much for these helpful posts. I used your ecru-grey-green formula today and loved it. It’s such a fun way to shop my closet and try new combinations 💚
Omg, thank you Angela!!! I’m so glad the formula worked for you!! I am all about working with what I have & making small tweaks with adding intentional needs!
I love the green + ecru + gray combo and have all the ingredients! Will be recreating stat! Your reminder to experience feelings resonated so deeply. I’m also going through all the highs and lows of caring for an aging parent, and lately I just have to lean in to little things like joking with coworkers over lunch, or styling myself, or even just shopping off my wishlist (I’m only human!) Thanks for this lovely inspirational series!
Thank you so much! I can't wait to see your twist on it! I can't even begin to imagine how challenging that is - and I love that you're finding joy in laughter, togetherness and looking so darn good! You're the best!
Traci, your opening really resonated. Thank you for this great reminder. I loved your sheer shirt styling (the washing advice is spot on, I learned the hard way my sheer skirt cannot handle even a drop of water). My favorite was your navy/black/white look. I've been inspired by polo necks this year, but haven't found the right one at secondhand yet and you're motivating me to keep looking.
Thank you, Tina! I'm so glad you enjoyed it. Writing it and putting it out into the world is such a great accountability method—it makes me actually follow my OWN advice! OH MY GOODNESS… I am going to need all the washing tips for this! WHAT DO I DO?!
Thank you so much for taking the time to read, I appreciate you! xo
My fingers are crossed yours is washable! My skirt is dry clean only - I thought I was a genius and hung it in my steamy shower post-shower to get the wrinkles out and it created water spots. Apparently some sheer fabric is so delicate that water can stain it 🫠 Luckily my dry cleaner got them out, but if I get anything sheer again it has to be machine washable.
Bree, you’re the best! I’ve been reading your work for a while now, and you have such a beautiful way with words. I think I’ve shared your 20 Short Rules for Better Days at Work with every single coworker who came within a one-foot radius! Thank you for being you!
Traci I never heard of Bree before but I must follow her with now, I love how you were able to weave her words into your post. These color combinations are all so gorgeous, and I truly love how you made them your own. But whew yea that organza top is so cool and so pretty and it fits you like a dream. I love the way your use of color is gentle and grounded in nature’s hues; I’m craving those tones and these color combinations right now, so I’ll be revisiting this for ideas again abc again…starting with inspo for tomorrow’s work outfit.
Thank you, Danielle!!!! I love Bree's work -- it's all about having fun at work! Finding the joy in things that may be mundane, etc. The organza top is a 10/10... I felt way cooler than I am. I can't wait to see what you pull off! Your looks are always fantastic!! Thank you so much for taking the time to read-- I appreciate you!!!!!
Such beautiful thoughts, Traci!! Thank you for sharing. It's a great reminder right now - I was laid off last week (33 weeks pregnant, cool!), but I'm feeling more joy and lightness than grief and while that feels very weird, I'm soaking it in while I can because what a nice feeling to have!!
Kaittttt. 😕 - Did I read in a note it was shutdown-related? Or am I making that up?
Honestly - I love that. Being able to find joy in an unexpected pivot is so admirable on every single damn level. (All while 33 weeks pregnant). Big hugs - proud of you!!! An example for all of us.
Reminding me to wear color again (in the best way!) and to savor the little moments (a reminder I always need). You know what moment I savor each week? When I get to sit down and read your letter in full!! Thanks friend 💚🩶 (hint hint at my vote!)

I love all the color combos but think I am loving the navy, black and white.. and black, blue, and burgundy.. and burgundy and red.. just love it all.
You are rocking the black sheer shirt!!
And I love the art and pics you did with your daughter!
And keep looking up 🥹
Thank you, Ginny! The burgundy and red was such an unexpected FUN pairing! I felt very revealed in the sheer shirt, but said what the heck, YOLO! #FINDSBYGINNY!

I loveee the green and brown together. It’s not something I would have even thought of pairing together.
Also feeling fomo about the sheer shirt! I’ve wanted one ever since I saw it in Bride Wars in 2009 (what is time lol)!
Yay! I’m so glad you liked it! BRIDE WARS!!! An absolute iconic throwback!!!!!
haha i need to watch it again!
That shade of green is the most perfect shade I have ever seen. Might just need to place a J Crew order asap!!
Thanks, Kaye!!! You’re the best!!
I wanted to vote for multiple - so many good color combos!
I’m so glad you enjoyed, Nina!! Xo

This is all great feedback!!
Traci!! I’m thrilled the last mile post resonated. Thank you for sharing it with your people!
And omg you are… I have no other words… SO COOL. Your colors, style, expressiveness, it’s all *chefs kiss*. How I wish I saw clothes as you do!

RIP to the sheer top. It’s so good!! Love that inspo, too.
May she rest in peace. Luckily her identical sister has made it to my home as of yesterday, lol!

Just don’t let it touch water !!

Due to tariffs! Same, same, but different. It's all going to be fine!! 🤗🤗
UGH - similar, but different. I am proud of you. I am going to channel some of your resilience!
❤️❤️❤️

I keep writing ILY, Ariane - every time after you post on my work! I think it’s because your comments truly warm my heart!
I need to start taking my own advice. I feel the same way when Just A Splash hits my inbox!!!!
